Valerie Castile the mother of Philando Castile is comforting her daughter Allysza Castile who is mourning the loss of her brother who was shot and killed by Police Officer Jeromino Yanez. Philando was a good young laid-back man who liked coming home after work to play video games according to his mother Valerie in a CNN interview. His fiancé Diamond Reynolds and her 4 year old daughter Da’ Anna witnessed Philando comply with the police officer and still get shot 5 times. Valerie applauds Diamond for recording the incident and calmly telling everyone what happened. It is disturbing that the police officer continued to fire shots at Philando with a child in the backseat.

These women lives will never be the same. They lost someone who was very dear to them. They will fight for justice and peace for Philando Castile.
This is becoming an epidemic. Young black men are being killed by police officers who are not mentally or ethically capable of doing their jobs. Prior to Philando being shot 5 times in his car, Alton Sterling was shot and killed by a police officer in Baton Rouge. He was shot several times on the chest while he was pinned down by another police officer. His wife Quinyetta McMillan managed to speak out at a news conference but she was trying to be strong for her children. She now will have to raise 5 children on her own.

These 2 separate and recent tragedies are destroying America. We have to come together to help mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, girlfriends, wives, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters overcome the loss of their love ones whose lives were taken by police officers who simply cannot do their jobs with integrity. We need to support them peacefully. Being angry or having hate will not solve the root of the problem. We need to show love, empathy and educate. We need to invite people with bigger platforms to stand up and speak up.
What happened in Dallas last night should not have occurred. The cops who were at the peaceful protest in Dallas last night were protecting the protestors. Five police officers were killed and now their families are mourning for them. Philando Castile and Alton Sterling deaths will not be justified by killing innocent police officers. The only way to fight for justice is through peace, education and communication.
