Why You Should Go See “Eclisped.”

It is refreshing to finally have a play on Broadway that was written by a woman, directed by a woman and the cast were only women. This play focused on the relationship between five women struggling to deal with the war that took place in Liberia for so many years. They were held captive and forced to be sex slaves. The play was written by Danai Guira and directed by Liesl Tommy.

They were able to bring their vision on stage. The performance was superb. Lupita Nyang’o, Saycon Sengbloh, Akosua Busia, Zainab Jah and Pascale Armand made you believe you are the characters they are portraying. They made you feel the character’s pain, sadness, anger , confusion and love for each other. They show the audiences every night when you are in a tough situation, you can count on women to support you and help you get through it. The characters on the play helped each other in their on ways. One cannot help to think about the women who actually suffered in Liberia. This play should be seen by everyone. Support this play by sharing it with others and go see it. You will leave the theater feeling grateful.

They deserve a standing ovation every night!

About Lovely Haitian

I am a Haitian American Woman. I came to the United States when I was only 2 years old. Some may say I am Americanized but the truth is I was raised in the Haitian culture and I am proud of it. I am also proud of becoming a Citizen of the U.S. I love to laugh and meet new people everyday. It is interesting to listen to other people's stories and life experiences. I learn from each person I meet everyday and I expect new experiences in my life. I encourage everyone to "Live, Love, and Laugh." Life is too short and time is very precious. It waits for no one.
